About the Role

The Peer Program Support role is responsible for providing assistance and support to individuals in need within our non-profit organization. This position plays a crucial role in promoting the well-being and empowerment of program participants.

Department: Housing
Classification: Full-time
Location: In person
Reports To: Housing & Unhoused Services Director
Compensation: Hourly pay range $19.00- $22.00
Travel Requirements: 25%

Requirements


Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Offer emotional support and guidance to program participants

  • Assist in the development and implementation of program activities

  • Facilitate group discussions and workshops

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of participant progress

  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure the smooth operation of programs


Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and Experience: 

  • High School/ GED

  • Peer Counselor certification required


Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 20 pounds


Job Hazards: 

  • Working with people in crisis

  • Working outside in elements at time

  • Working with people in homeless camps

  • Possible exposure to hazardous material

  • Physical strain from lifting and moving program materials

  • Exposure to large groups of people
